The Ibero-American Congress on Technological Innovation and Sustainability in Construction, TISCon2027, aims to contribute to the development of knowledge in the areas of technological innovation and sustainability within the construction value chain and built environments. To this end, original and innovative contributions will be presented on various topics with an impact on this research area, seeking to leverage and contribute—from materials to buildings, infrastructure, urban areas, and cities—to overcoming various challenges in the immediate future.
This is the first edition of a series of Ibero-American congresses being launched, given the current importance of this theme, which is seeing new interests and challenges in academia, industry, and the market. Growing challenges require increasingly broader developments and applications, making it essential to consider the possibility of enhancing innovation and its internalization in practice; therefore, the congress promotes its dissemination and feasibility.
This 1st edition of TISCon is organized by the University of the Algarve (UAlg), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), and the University of Seville (US). It is an in-person event that will take place on September 23 and 24, 2027, in the historic coastal city of Faro, Algarve, Portugal, at the Superior Institute of Engineering of the University of the Algarve.
The congress interconnects education, research, and the public and private markets, and is intended for teachers, researchers, students, designers, planners, entities, and technicians from the public and private sectors at national, regional, and municipal levels.
The official languages of TISCon2027 will be Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

Submissions

Authors can participate in TISCon2027 by submitting original papers with a maximum of 8 pages in one of the 3 official languages of the congress (Portuguese, Spanish, or English).
Accepted works will be presented in person at the congress in a 10-minute oral session followed by 5 minutes of discussion.
Authors must use the Word template provided here for both the abstract and the final paper.

Responsibility for the content of the documents lies with the authors.
Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by at least two members of the Scientific Committee and evaluated based on their originality, scientific relevance, and clarity.
A partnership will be established with an international journal (TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON) for the publication of a special issue featuring the most relevant papers presented at TISCon2027. In this case, papers must be submitted in English and follow the journal’s formatting.

TISCon2027 will take place at the Superior Institute of Engineering of the University of the Algarve, Penha Campus, Faro.
The Algarve, located in southern Portugal, is a well-known tourist region. With a Mediterranean climate, this region is perfect for summer holidays. Some of the best and most beautiful beaches in the world can be found here, making the Algarve an exceptional destination for tourists. Faro is the administrative, social, and commercial capital of the Algarve.

Proceedings
Papers accepted for oral presentation will be published in the congress Proceedings book.
Submitted papers may also apply to be selected for publication in a special issue of a partner journal (to be announced soon).
To this end, papers must be written in English and comply with the proposed format and length conditions (to be announced soon), and will follow a review process to ensure the standards required by the journal. The conference proceedings will publish only an abstract of these papers.
